7 Things That Students Studying In Private Universities In Delhi Are Tired Of Hearing!

Keeping aside the food and the party scenes in Delhi, the one other thing that this city is insanely popular for is the plethora of colleges and universities it houses. Be it Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, IP University, Amity, Sharda and LPU among others, all are really well known across the country. But what you don’t know is the perception everyone has about the students of private universities. DU has its own share of fame and glam, but private universities are no less & here are some routine things that these students are so tired of hearing!

1. “Does Everyone Drive To College In Their Audi?!”

First things first, admission fees of private universities are waaaaay higher that state universities and hence the moment you speak words like Amity, LPU, Sharda and more, all you get in return are those ‘you lucky rich lad’ looks from your pals, don’t you? We feel ya and so we wanna enlighten tell all those Delhiites who haven’t graduated from a private university that all the students who go to these universities aren’t rich brats and some keep paying off their student loans for years! And, no, not all of them are blessed enough to have Audis standing in their parking lots!

2. “Do You Have Malls Inside Your Campus?”

We know that private universities have colossal sized campus areas with cafes, fab audis, amphitheatres and cool libraries, but malls? Seriously? Come on guys, colleges don’t have malls inside of them, we mean we’d love that to happen some day for sure but sadly, this has not been realized yet. We are talking about colleges here, not The Venetian Hotel in Hong Kong, right?

3. “Your College Must Be A Runway, Right?”

College and fashion go hand in hand, be it any college, guys. Newspapers always are loaded with pictures of freshmen from Delhi University and even IP University, so calling private universities a fashion house is kinda unfair, don’t you think?

4. “Amity & Sharda Ek Hi Hai Na?!”

Let’s just get this straight once and for all. Amity and Sharda have nothing in common, except that they both are private universities and are in Delhi, that’s it! They are completely different in all other matters, got it?

5. “Attendance Ka Toh Koi Scene Hi Nahi Hota Hoga Na?”

Well, attendance maybe a hyped issue in DU or IP university, but honestly, despite everything, has anyone ever still cared? Some rules are simply meant to be broken and barely meeting the attendance mark tops our list. And it’s the same in private universities too. Although everybody leaves their homes for college in the morning but somehow always end up bunking, agreed?

6. “You Guys Must Party All The Time!”

Okay, let’s do the math here. Official freshers party, unofficial freshers party, fests, events, farewell parties, birthday parties and election time parties pretty much sums up the entire college life, doesn't it? And trust us guys, it’s just the same for students in Amity too, they aren’t the only ones who party!

7. “Have You Ever Heard About Assignments, Deadlines, Internals?”

Unless you’re the most nerdy student, we’re sure you too finished all your assignments exactly the night before the submission date, didn’t you? And who has ever studied for college internals? We surely didn’t! Students in private universities too have assignments to submit, internals to pass and deadlines to meet, but kaun karta hai ye sab yaar?
