5 Stalls You ABSOLUTELY Have To Stop By For Diyas & More @ The Blind School Diwali Mela 2018

It’s finally that time of the year again, people, when celebrations are in full swing, calling for lots of merrymaking and something else that we all love collectively - shopping! The weeks leading up to Diwali are chock-full of flamboyant Diwali exhibitions and decades-old melas that bring with them truckloads of sweetmeats, pretty kurtas and jewellery and most importantly - copious masses of cutesy diyas!

And one such ages-old Diwali mela is the iconic Blind School Diwali Mela, which is an absolute must-visit if you wanna do Diwali right in Delhi. Following our own dictum, we naturally hopped over to this beautiful mela, and here’s everything awesome we spotted here!

1. Beautiful Dining Table Furnishings @ Stall No. C-42

Ever been to Rose Cafe in Saket? It seems like that cafe was furnished using pieces bought from this stall! All things chic and sophisticated could be spotted at Stall No. C-42 and trust us, you gotta bookmark this one. Cute hanging cages, pleasing knick-knacks and more, these guys specialise in dining table furnishings. One can pick up royal-looking fruit bowls, serving bowls, ladles and what not here.

What caught our eye was their picnic basket, which had separate compartments for everything and elegant-looking candle holders which, we assume, were straight out of a Harry Potter set!

2. Lots Of Mirrors @ Stall No. B-6

As you enter the mela from Gate No. 1, you’ll see a huge collection of ethereal wall mirrors which is just awe-spiring! They’re giant, sturdy and, at the same time, very flamboyant. If you’ve got an empty wall at home, THIS is where you need to stop your wagons to fill it up. Apart from mirrors, they also offer decorative pieces like exquisite wall hangings for you to snap up.

3. Sturdy Recycled Furniture @ Stall No. B-12

This place houses furniture made from recycled wood and you’ll find seats made of bamboo, covered with a golden thread, which is again recycled. Also, pans made of tree-bark as well as wall hangings and lamps made of wood are on offer here, so definitely make a pit-stop at B-12 in case you’re looking to revamp your space!

4. Colourful Diwali Decor @ Stall No. B-14 & Others

Right from candle holders made from wood to vibrant lamps and wall hangings, the mela was an exciting adventure altogether because a new turn would unveil something even more colourful and beautiful than the last. At B-14, it was all about lighting - these guys had beautifully lit-up lamps and fairy lights aplenty to make sure your home glows this Diwali!

5. Pretty Desi Apparels @ Stall No. D-42

One thing that the mela was full of was traditional clothes! Right from trendy shararas to refined kurtis for women and fitted juttis and kolhapuri chappals along with Nehru jackets and traditional sherwanis for men, there was a lot of variety to choose from. There were also chanderi and Banarasi saris and tie and die patterned kurtis, Jaipuri jackets and lots more to ensure y’all ace your ethnic look this festive season.

So these were our fave 5 stalls to check out here at the Blind School Diwali Mela. Bookmark all of these and swing by ASAP with your fam jam to make the most of the Diwali season, folks!
