You might not know but the Connaught Place Phool Mandi is claimed to be the biggest flower market in Asia! Neat, right? The vendors get to business sharp at 4 AM each morning, dealing in desi and international varieties of flowers. They come from all over the world- Thailand, Holland, Bangkok, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. They even have extras like bouquet decorations, filler plants, and artificial flowers. There’s lots to see at the mandi which is why you must reach early to witness the hustle-bustle of the mandi unfold.

It sources its flowers locally and from abroad from countries like China, Holland, and other South East Asian nations for a larger variety. A hit amongst roadside vendors, retailers, and wedding decorators, you can find flowers in bulk for a bargain! Take in the aroma of fresh roses, orchids, lilies, and carnations when you visit this market on a crisp chilly morning.

The Fatehpuri Flower Market, aka Genda phool market, surrounding the Fatehpuri mosque in Chandni Chowk dates back to 80 years. The mandi gets busy with business from the crack of dawn up until 9 PM. One can visit in the early morning to see streets filled with marigolds and roses and experience a different aspect of Chandni Chowk. Although it is said that most of the vendors have now been made to move to Ghazipur mandi, many still deal in flowers here. It is worth a visit!

Chattarpur flower mandi is a relatively smaller market with 10 to 12 shops that sell a variety of flowers and tree leaves used for pooja. It does get busy during the early hours, so if you want to see the action unfold then you should definitely reach here before the party gets started!
Better get your haggling game on too ‘cause the flowers can get pricey depending on the season and demand.
