While you’d deeply miss every nook and corner of the city, there are some forever fave spots you must visit before the final goodbye! So, here’s a list of places amongst the thousands in Delhi that we recommend you visit before shifting to a new city!

1. Humayunpur

Explore the hidden gems of Delhi's Tibetan lanes in the charming Humayunpur village while hopping on the delicious lappings. Indulge in delectable Chinese, Korean, Nepalese, and North-east Indian cuisine at budget-friendly restaurants and cafes. Treat your taste buds to a delightful culinary adventure in this lesser-known part of the city ‘cause you won’t get street food anywhere like here.

2. The Big Chill 

The Big Chill Cafe is yet to make an appearance in other cities, which will make your move all the more harder. Over the years, this cafe feels like an indispensable part of our city, and we don’t know how anyone could deal without their frequent dose of their toothsome cheesecakes, Mississippi Mud Pies, Penne With Vodka Pasta, and so many more dishes.

3. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Ji, CP

On the days you’re feeling a little low, visiting the tranquil Bangla Sahib puts one’s mind at ease. Just a glance of this scenic place from the lake inside, and you feel it in your bone that all will be well! Not having this at your new home is surely gonna be tough. Hence, you must surely visit Bangla Sahib & CP on your last day in this city - take some blessings along the way.

4. A Foodie Trail In Old Delhi

Ah, don’t even get us started on Old Delhi! It is literally the treasure of Delhi, and the busy lanes of the Chandni Chowk market, Jama Masjid, and obviously the lip-smacking fare you find here, will be sorely missed. So, make sure to have the succulent kebabs from Karim’s & the scrummy kulfi from Kuremal’s in old Delhi. 

5. Vaishnav Chaat Bhandar, Kamla Nagar

Kamla Nagar market has so much to offer - the legendary Fateh Ki Kachori, Chacha Ke Chole Bhature, and lanes after lanes of all kinds of shops. But one thing without which any adieu to this city shall remain incomplete is - CHAAT! We’d love to have at least one (or 10) plate(s) of these spicy & tangy dishes before we move out. 

6. Faqir Chand & Sons Book Store, Khan Market

This bookstore that has been standing tall in Delhi since 1951 and has barely changed is every bibliophile’s second home. No bookstore shall ever match our adoration for Faqir Chand & Sons Bookstore in Khan Market, and obviously, you, like many others, splurge on as many books as you can before we move to a new city as a reminder! Wandering in the lanes of Khan would surely fill you up with many emotions, so carrying tissues is advisable. 

7. Sudama Tea Stall & Tom Uncle Maggi, North Campus

North Campus stands tall as the symbol of our good ol’ carefree days, and every visit here fills us up to the brim with nostalgia. Be it having tea from Sudama Tea Stall or Maggi from Tom Uncle, moving out from the city ‘cause of adulting doesn’t mean you won’t revisit your fave memories from college!

8. Sarojini Nagar

Oh, how we’re gonna miss our Sarojini Nagar shopping sprees! The markets of Delhi are unlike anywhere else in the whole world, and we’re sure no city in the world could live up to our dear Sarojini Nagar. Yes yes, you’ve gotta shop till you drop clothes, jewellery, and everything else too. 

9 Chalte Firte Momos, Rohini

If we ever had to choose the national food for Delhi, we’re pretty sure it would be momos. We don’t know how and when momos took up the city by the storm but no one can imagine living a month without them. Every nook and corner of Delhi has a thela of hot momos, and you absolutely cannot leave the city without hogging onto them. Obvs, if we had to try the crazy varieties of them, like kurkure & tandoori, we’d definitely visit the famous Chalte Firte Momos! 

10. Champa Gali

Now that Dilli will look all foggy in a few months, we cannot wait for the hot chocolate season! And if you don’t have Hot chocolate at Jugmug Thela in Champa Gali before you move out, you’d never forgive yourself! Champa Gali is the happy place of the city, always lit up with a chirpy crowd and magical lights - hence it calls for a visit!

It’s already established that Delhi is a paradise for foodies, and when it comes to chole bhature, we’re sure that there’s no place like Delhi! This is why we’d love to recommend gorging on the scrumptious chole bhature from Sita Ram Diwan Chand in Paharganj for sure before moving out. 

12. A Yulu Bike Ride Through Lodhi Gardens & Lodhi Art District

Yulu bikes are something every Delhi wala proudly boasts of, for it’s one of Delhi’s unique experiences! Before you shift to a new city, we’d surely wanna ride these Yulus once more, and what better place than the aesthetic AF Lodhi Art District to ride these at? 13. Janpath Market

Another one of the beloved street markets in Delhi, Janpath Market in CP has everything from home decor, bags, clothes, footwear, books, snacks, and more. It also has a uniquely Delhi vibe which you’d enjoy revisiting before shifting to a new city!

14. Moti Mahal, Daryaganj

Can you imagine leaving the city without noshing on some creamy butter chicken first? No? Same! Surely, there’s no better place to have butter chicken than where it was invented, so a visit to Moti Mahal in Daryaganj is unmissable! Oomph, our mouth is already watering imagining that buttery naan and mouth-melting chicken, so make sure you head over.

15. India Gate

A part of Delhi’s itinerary that has maintained its spot for AGES, an evening at India Gate will never go out of fashion, no matter how many new things to do in Delhi pop up, which is why when you’re nearing your last day in Delhi you have to drop by India Gate! Just a symbol of Delhi’s rich history, India Gate lights to life in the evening, and having an ice cream becomes a ritual.

16. Parthasarathy Rocks, JNU

Finally, end your day watching the sunset at Parthasarathy Rocks, JNU. This is the perfect place to sit down for a moment and breathe, accompanied by the majestic sunset. This is also the spot we’d miss a lot, and hence we’d visit for sure.

18. Qutub Minar

How can we not miss the iconic Qutub Minar? The brick minaret is the shaan of Delhi and it makes for the perfect weekend picnic spot with your family. Learning history, mughal architecture and playing cricket in the garden is a core memory that every Delhiite has and if you are planning on shifting, then we bet you’d miss this place more than ever!
