We’ve all at one point or another in our lives created a travel bucket list of sorts that lists all the amazing things, places, and travel experiences we want to indulge in this life. And with social media bringing the world closer and more info on the wonders that the world has to offer, that list just keeps expanding, and the more we travel, the more places we want to visit! And keeping that in mind, we’ve collated a list of the most sought after travel destinations that you lovely readers would want to head over once the pandemic is over. So read on! 

1. Cairo, Egypt

Cairo is one of the most beautiful odes to history and plays host to several iconic historical sites like the Sphinx, Pyramid of Khafre, Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other archaeological sites. Known to be one of the world’s most recognised world heritage sites, Cairo is the place to be if we’ve all dreamt of uncovering the great mysteries of Egypt or been fascinated by mummies!  

2. Santorini, Greece

We’ve all been inspired by the Santorini aesthetic and vibe, be it via social media, or restaurants that have imbibed the charming palette that has become synonymous with Santorini. It’s no wonder that most of us have a pretty place on our list. Santorini is a gorgeous city that seems like it was made to be put on a postcard and photographed, with its pale white and blue-domed houses, set upon a jagged hill overlooking the great vast sea that reflects back turquoise waters, Santorini is everyone’s dream destination!

3. Bali, Indonesia

Bali is one of those seaside vacation destinations that you constantly hear about on the news, more so in relation to some known personality taking a weekend vacation here and truth be told, it has piqued our curiosity, and of most of you lovely readers. This Indonesian island has so much to explore along with just relaxing on the beachside, right from volcanic mountains to snorkelling in the coral reefs, the beautiful rice paddies, cliffside Uluwatu Temple - its the place where culture, nature, food and great parties coincide! 

4. Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Bora Bora is another scenic island that is the most sought after tourist attraction, and definitely on our bucket list to visit, post-pandemic. Located on a dormant volcano island, and having one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world, Bora Bora is known for its scuba diving among the coral reefs that surround it. We’re waiting to dive into the crystal clear waters and sunbathe on the beautiful beaches while breathing in nature, what about you?

5. Rome, Italy

Rome in Italy is another vacation destination that we all dream of experiencing. The history, culture and great architecture in Rome is the signature of great Italian cities and let’s just say that when in Italy, you won’t be satisfied with just exploring Rome. With beautiful cities like Venice, Florence, Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast, be sure to take a serene backpacking trip around these gorgeous cities when you do drop by here!

6. Krabi, Thailand 

Krabi is an island in Southern Thailand and is known to be one of the most relaxing places in the world. So if you’re tired of the constant WFH meeting and need a break, this is where you need to drop by. And while here, don’t forget to explore the numerous towering limestone cliffs, caves, waterfalls and exotic wildlife, or indulge in fun activities like Island-hopping, snorkelling, rock climbing, sea kayaking, jungle trekking and scuba diving, that the place is known for!

7. Kirkjufell, Iceland 

When we talk about Iceland, the first thing on our minds is the beautiful northern lights. The Aurora Borealis is the inspiration for many to take a trip here and let’s just say that we’re one of those people. Many say that it’s a life-changing event to witness the swirling and different colours of this natural phenomenon, all the more reasons that make us want to visit this winter wonderland! 

8. Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu in Peru is an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains and truly a sight to behold. The minute we see scenes of this beautiful area, we’re driven by a force to just get on a plane and just head over as soon as possible! The vibrant nature and the stunning ruins of the citadel truly make this place a must-visit on our bucket list! 

9. Budapest, Hungary

Budapest, the capital of Hungary is a city that has something for everyone, right from the rich history, flamboyant culture and nightlife unrivalled in Europe. Dip yourself in the healing waters of their numerous thermal baths and spas, take in the incredible historic architecture, explore the castle, cruise the Danube River and try some of the best beer the city has to offer! We’re already impatient to head over! 

10. Paris, France

Every time we fantasize about a romantic getaway with boo, haven’t most of us always dreamt of going to Paris and taking a glimpse of the magnificent Eiffel Tower at night? But that’s not all folks, this iconic city has so much more to offer from the state of art museums like Musée du Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, the fantastic food, theatre, fashion and other famous Paris attractions like the Arc de Triomphe and Panthéon that beckon photographers and or folks like us to get clickin’. 

11. New York, USA

Who hasn’t thought about visiting the USA, especially its bustling concrete city, New York that never seems to sleep? It has it all - from charming urban modernity to upscale buildings, culture and some world-class cuisine. Comprising five boroughs that all have special features, and sitting around the area where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean, New York is sure to be on everyone’s bucket list!
