While the suicide bits are misleading and upsetting, the movie makes a strong case about how travel truly can be the perfect cure for many hiccup moments in life. Queen is the movie of a bad-ass girl taking control of her life in a way all modern girls should. When Rani’s fiancé leaves her jilted a day before their nuptials, Rani spends the day depressed but decides to go on her pre-booked honeymoon alone to cheer herself up. Being someone who’d lived a sheltered life under the control and protection of family members till then, especially men, Rani finds it difficult to adjust till she meets Vijaylakshmi, a free-spirited single mother who lives life by her rules. Having spent the best time exploring Paris with Vijay Lakshmi, Rani gains confidence in herself and decides to continue her vacation in Amsterdam where she befriends her three flatmates, kisses an Italian friend, wins a culinary event to earn money and has eye-opening experiences such as visiting a sex shop. On seeing the new Rani, her fiancé visits her in Amsterdam wanting her back but she eventually turns him down as she now sees her true potential.
