Catch A Glimpse Of India's Heroic History At The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum

Located in the northwest corner of Ram Bagh, the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum is dedicated to its namesake, the ‘Lion of Punjab’, who founded the Sikh empire, wrestling large areas of northwest India from the Mughals. A vast diorama depicts the maharaja’s greatest battles, complete with booming battle cries and other sound effects!

The place is surrounded by the famous Rambagh Garden, popular for its statue of the legendary king with his horse and it holds exquisite exhibits of arms, armours, paintings, old coins and manuscripts, all of which belong to Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Among the many masterpieces here, the one that depicts the bustling city of Old Lahore is the most famous one.

Although a lot of efforts have been made, the museum/panorama still lacks proper maintenance and we wish the government looks into this aspect!

It also has a light & sound show so don't miss it when visiting this landmark - a perfect one-way ticket to the heroic past of this city!
